A Message from:
If you weren’t born in Clay County, get here as quickly as you can. Sheltered in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, our county has something that appeals to everyone. Clay County has a vast offering of attractions whether it’s enjoying pristine Lake Chatuge, exploring the historic town of Hayesville, or hiking our scenic mountain trails. Clay County is a highly desirable vacation destination as well as a place to call home. As chairman of the Board of Commissioners, my goals are to continue to grow the county economically, increase tourism, keep out streets beautiful and free of litter, and most importantly, make Clay County the friendliest county in the state.
